Another Superstar fades away taking millions of fans in oblivion- Rajesh Khanna passed away today at his Ashirwad residence in Mumbai

It was a sad and heart rendering news to hear about Rajesh Khanna demise after a prolonged illness.I grew up looking at this star from my early childhood days and couldn’t neglect the charisma which this superstar carried with dignity. He made his film debut in the 1966 film Akhri Khat directed by Chetan Anand, followed by Raaz directed by Ravindra Dave both of which were a part of his predetermined prize for winning the All-India United Producers’ Talent Competition. G.P. Sippy and Nasir Hussain were the first to sign Rajesh Khanna after he won the contest. Aakhri Khat was India’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 40th Oscar Academy Awards in 1967.

His demise came as a great shock to me as in the morning only i was tracking the superstar health when i saw today HT City carrying news of his discharge from hospital, but afternoon took my emotions by storm hearing his demise.Rajesh Khanna’s heart capturing smile, his style statement and his persona was something which we have lost today and can never be restored.

I wish my condolence to the grieving family members, and may the superstar soul rest in peace.
