BID TO KILL HOTELIER BRINGS SHARP-SHOOTERS OF SEVERAL DREADED GANGS TOGETHER

Sharp Shooters from Anil Dujana gang, Harinder @ Heavy Darbaripur gang, Ravi Rupawas gang and Manjeet Nagar gang join hands to carry out a supari assassination.

Swift action by Anti Auto Theft Squad of South District acts as a spoiler.

8 accused apprehended; 8 firearms and 22 cartridges recovered after a shootout.

New Delhi: In order to carry out what could have been a sensational supari killing, eight active members/sharp shooters of the most dreaded gangs of Delhi/NCR had joined hands; the target being a prominent hotelier cum real estate magnate, based out of Greater Noida. However, the crime was averted and criminal design interrupted when the Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of South District successfully arrested the following eight criminals after a shootout:

In early afternoon hours of 29/04/17, information was received by the Anti Auto theft Squad, South District that active members of some interstate gangs had taken a ‘supari’ to eliminate a prominent hotelier based out of Greater Noida and for the purpose, the suspects would be assembling near Ruchi Vihar to be joined by local criminals of South Delhi before they proceed towards their target who was under a close watch. The informer also revealed that one of the suspects could be one Chenpal @ Chenu, a sharp shooter of the Heavy Darbaripur gang of Gurugram, Haryana who was the main accused in the infamous MG Road shootout of 15/07/15 when the gang war between Harender Heavy and Rakesh Hayatpur had led to the death of a passerby auto driver apart from bullet injuries to others.

Without wasting any time, a strong operational team was constituted under the leadership of Inspector Richpal Singh, I/C AATS/SD and consisting of SI Krishan Kumar, SI Babu Lal, ASI Rajbir, ASI Arvind, HC Jagroop, HC Subhash, HC Ramesh Kumar, Ct. Govind, Ct. Nemi Chand, Ct. Pawan Kumar, Ct. Sandeep, Ct. Amit and Ct. Naveen under the supervision of Shri Palwinder Singh Chehel, ACP/Ops/SD and Shri Aditya Gautam, ACP (Probationer). The team surveyed the area where the suspects were expected to arrive and laid a trap at the T-Point between Israil Camp and Ruchi Vihar by covering all tactical positions as it was informed that the criminals would be equipped with arms. During late evening hours, a Maruti Swift car was spotted coming from Israil Camp side. The car stopped near the T-Point and five men were seen alighting it, appearing to be in wait for someone. A few minutes later, three more men, two on a motorcycle and one on a scooty, arrived at the scene.  After a brief chat, when the suspects started getting back to their respective vehicles in order to move, the team called out to them, asking for surrender while disclosing identity as officers of Delhi Police. Within a split second, two gunshots were fired by the assailants, one of which hit the BP Vest, borne by Inspector Richpal Singh. In self defence, the police team returned fire, aiming to puncture a tyre of the Swift car. A total of 4 rounds were fired by the police team, one of which hit the front bumper of the said car. A scuffle ensued and soon, the assailants were overpowered and apprehended.

The accused were arrested following codal formalities and from their possession, a total of eight firearms were recovered. These include one US made and one British made semi-automatic pistols, one Indian pistol and five single shot crude firearms. After arrest, the accused were produced before Hon’ble Court and were obtained on Police Custody remand to carry out thorough interrogation and unravel the entire plot.

The accused were subjected to sustained interrogation, when they started revealing the sinister plot behind the ‘supari’ that they were to execute, had not it been the timely intervention of police. It has been learnt so far that accused Sanjay Kumar was given the contract by Ravi Rupawas, an infamous gangster. Sanjay thereafter roped in Chen Pal Gurjar @ Chenu, a dreaded sharpshooter of Harender @ Heavy gang and Manish Khari, a sharpshooter who has committed gruesome crimes in the past but has never been arrested. Accused Sanjay Kumar has been associated in murder cases with another dreaded gangster Anil Dujana and hence, his penetration in the world of organized crimes not only runs wide but also deep. The ganging up of desperate criminals from Ravi Rupawas, Anil Dujana and Harender Heavy gangs also points towards the long standing rivalries of these gangs with the Sunder Bhati gang which holds immense influence in land deals and protection cum extortion market of Western Uttar Pradesh. Detailed contours of this conspiracy are being unearthed.

The assailants’ had carried out meticulous recce of the intended target and knew everything about him which made him vulnerable viz. His residential address, work places, office in Delhi, vehicles owned by him along with their numbers, timings etc. Had they not been interdicted by AATS/SD, the eight criminals would have proceeded via Ghitorni towards Greater Noida expressway and as per plan, the scooty would have been brushed with the car being driven by the target to stage a minor accident. As soon as the holdup would have taken place, the remaining members would have opened a volley of fire, liquidating the target.
