BJP HITS BACK AT DIGVIJAY REMARKS ON DIGITAL INDIA ,SAYS  DIGVIJAY REMARKS ON DIGITAL INDIA REFLECTS FRUSTRATION

New Delhi: Describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Digital India’ concept to be ‘a historic step in the Indian administration’, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday hit back at Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh for criticizing the same and said that it reflected his frustration.

“Digvijay Singh criticising the ‘Digital India’ is nothing but talks of frustration. In fact yesterday, the ‘Digital India’ concept was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a historic step in the Indian administration because of the very fact that ‘Digital India’ looks forward for creation, a line-free India, a tension free India, a paper for India and most importantly the tagline is ‘The power to empower’,”bjp spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI here.

Patra alleged that none of the schemes under the former Congress-led UPA regime helped the poor people of this country.

“More than two lakh villages of the country would be connected to fibre optics and a great revolution would be ushered in into India. The Congress saying that it was just ‘renaming ceremony’ shows absolute frustration on its part. If Congress had such grand plans, then why were they defeated? They were defeated because they only had names and no intention of rolling these to the ground. We had seen that they had started a number of schemes but most of the schemes went into pilferage and corruption and none of them went to help the poor common man on the street,” he added.

The Congress leader had earlier taken a dig at the Centre’s ‘Digital India’ initiative, saying it has ‘successfully renamed’ yet another UPA venture. Couretsy: ANI
