Gandhinagar: A chargesheet was filed on Thursday against SELF-STYLED godman Asaram Bapu. He has been booked for allegedly raping a Surat-based girl who was staying at his Ahmedabad ashram. The chargesheet was filed in a Gandhinagar court. He has also been accused of illegal confinement and criminal conspiracy. Along with the self-styled godman, five others, including his his wife and daughter have also been booked by the police.
He has been in a Rajasthan jail since August last year. This is the second case of sexual assault against Asaram bapu. He was accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in his Jodhpur Ashram and was arrested for the same from Indore on September 01 last year. The 16-year old girl lodged a police compliant against him on August 20.
