DELHI POLICE COMMISSIONER INAUGRATES MODEL BARRACK AND RECREATION CENTRE AT RAJPUR ROAD
New Delhi, 23.04.2015: The Commissioner of Police, Delhi inaugurated a Model Barrack and Recreation Centre at Provisioning and Logistics, Unit of Delhi Police at 5, Rajpur Road, Delhi in the presence of senior officers of Delhi Police. As a part of “Swatch Bharat Abhiyan” launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, a lot of initiative have been taken by Delhi Police to upgrade and improve the upkeep and maintenance of Police Stations and living spaces provided to the police personnel especially in the barracks. Many old police buildings needs, lot of repair and maintenance which has been languishing for various reasons. This Model Barrack was conceptualized to give an impetus to various efforts undertaken in the last few months to improve the living conditions of police personnel and cleanliness around the police premises.
The Model Barrack has been provided 16 bunker beds with mattresses which will accommodate 32 police personnel. The barrack is equipped with air cooling system and separate locker with almirah to be used by the police personnel for keeping their belongings. Besides, Hot Cases, Electric Kettle, Iron Stand with Iron, Fly-Catcher have also been provided to the occupants.
The Recreation Centre has been provided with LED T.V. with Cable Connection, Facility of Newspapers, Journals & Magazine has also been provided. The Recreation Centre has also been provided with air cooling system with seating arrangement and games such as carom and chess.
The Commissioner of Police, Delhi also commended this initiative and expressed a desire that all other Districts/Units should also emulate this initiative and work whole heartedly to improve the living condition of the police personnel.
