NHPC pays Highest ever Interim Dividend of Rs. 1882 crore

NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydro power company and a ‘Mini Ratna’ Category-I Enterprise of the Government of India has paid an interim dividend of Rs.1402.21 crore to Government of India for the financial year 2016-17.

The dividend payout bank advice for an amount of Rs. 1402.21 crore was presented to Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent charge) for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy and Mines, Govt. of India by Shri K.M. Singh, CMD, NHPC in the presence of Shri P.K. Pujari, Secretary (Power), Govt. of IndiaShri Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), NHPC, Shri Balraj Joshi, Director (Technical), NHPC, Shri Mahesh Kumar Mittal, Director (Finance), NHPC and Shri D. Chakraborty, General Manager (Finance), NHPC.

The NHPC Board had declared an interim dividend at the rate of Rs.1.70/- per Equity share i.e. 17% of the face value of share. NHPC today has more than eight lakh shareholders and total interim dividend of Rs. 1882.02 crore has been paid for the year 2016-17 as against total dividend of Rs.1660.61  crore for the financial year 2015-16 (including interim dividend of Rs. 1018.50 crore). NHPC has earned net profit of Rs. 2627.17 crore for the nine months ended December 2016 for the financial year 2016-17 as against the previous period corresponding figure of Rs.2184.41crore
