P. J. Thakkar, Director (Technical), Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC), signed MoU with North India Technical Consultancy Organization Limited (NITCON), committing financial assistance under CSR initiatives for imparting Job-oriented Skill Development programmes to 250 educatedpersons from SC/ST/OBC/economically weaker sections of society, including women, from the backward areas of Hoshiarpur, backward district of Punjab State.The skill development/up-gradation programmes will be offered in domains related to power sector like Welding Technician, Industrial Fitter & Machinist, Lab technicians,Basic Electrician, RAC Mechanics, Data Entry Operators, CNC operators, etc., with placement assistance to the trainees, leading to generation of sustainable livelihoods.
