250 CR INR INVESTMENT BOOST BY MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA GROUP IN TELANGANA ON ITS AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING UNIT

The Mahindra Group on Wednesday announced the expansion of its automotive manufacturing facility at Zaheerabad, located in Medak district, Telangana, with an investment of Rs.250 crore.

The new facility, inaugurated by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao, will manufacture sub-1 tonne commercial vehicles, which include 4-wheel load and passenger vehicles. These would be in addition to utility vehicles, LCVs and 3-wheelers, currently being manufactured here.

The Zaheerabad facility, acquired from Alwyn Nissan in 1995, is M&M’s sixth automotive manufacturing plant in India, with the other five being in Mumbai, Chakan, Nashik, Igatpuri (Nashik district) and Haridwar. The facility also houses M&M’s tractors plant, which has already reached a production.
