3rd BEST BANK AWARD TITLE WON BY INDIA'S LEADING BANK- PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK

PNB WON THE 3RD BEST BANK AWARD

 

Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India celebrated RSETI Diwas at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi where the top performers of Rural Self-Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) were awarded.  PNB was awarded with a Shield by Dr. Verender Heggade, Padam Bhushan, on being adjudged as the 3rd Best Bank Award for nurturing the RSETIs.  18 of PNB RSETIs with higher grade were recognized and awarded by the Ministry of Rural Development.

PNB also conducted 3rd Conclave of RSETI Directors at New Delhi, where 44 Directors from different States participated. Shri Rakesh Sethi, Executive Director and Chairman of PNB Centenary Rural Development Trust (PNBCRDT) in his key-note address stressed that poverty and unemployment are the main problems of rural India and these can be solved only through skill development.  The RSETIs offer unique and short term residential training, designed specifically for rural youth with the objective to bring in positively attitudinal changes resulting in increased self-confidence, awareness, understanding knowledge, skill and higher motivation for self-employment.  This Conclave was also addressed by Ms. Renuka Kumar, Deputy Secretary, MoRD, GoI, wherein she stressed for consistent handholding of rural youth till they attain self-sustainability.

Dr. Rakesh Gupta, General Manager/ Executive Trustee informed that construction of RSETI Buildings have been started at 42 centres. Bank envisages to start functioning of RSETIs in lead districts allotted to it at 13 more Centres across the country in addition to 47 already existing RSETIs.
