Mumbai : South Mumbai seems to be teeming with perverts, if one goes by the number of cases where foreign women have been targeted. After the American woman who had to witness a vulgar act of a youth, a 28-year-old man was arrested here for allegedly stalking a German woman during the past few months, police said on Saturday.
The 37-year-old woman, who stays at Pedder Road in South Mumbai, had noticed that she was being followed by an unidentified man since the past three months, DCP (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni said.
Following this, she lodged a complaint with the Malabar Hill police on Friday, he said. A trap was laid and Sajid Khan, a driver by profession, was arrested by the officials of Gamdevi police, Kulkarni added. The Pedder Road area comes under the jurisdiction of Gamdevi police station.
A case has been registered and Khan booked under section 354(D)(stalking) of IPC, police said, adding further investigations are under way.Courtesy: Agencies (PTI)
