AKHILESH YADAV,UP,CHIEF MINISTER INAUGRATES 500 MW ANPARA D THERMAL POWER STATION

Sonbhadra: In order to sort out the power crisis situation in the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday inaugurated the 500 megawatt first unit of  Anpara D thermal power station here.
This is the first power plant in the public sector set up in UP after a gap of over two decades.
The total capacity of Anpara D thermal power plant will be 1000 megawatt.
Officials here today said that a total investment of Rs 7,026 crores have incurred on the construction of this unit and it took a time of seven years to complete this project.
The scheme will provide electricity to dozens of districts of Purvanchal (eastern UP) including Bhadohi, Varanasi,Mirzapur and Ghazipur.
The second 500 megawatt unit will also start its production by June 30 this year.
These units will help the state government to fulfill its promise to provide  power supply of 16 hours in rural areas whereas 22-24 hours in the urban areas daily by the end of 2016.
Irrigation Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav, State Minister for Energy Yashir Shah were also present with the CM Akhilesh Yadav on the occasion.

Akhilesh Yadav was accompanied by Irrigation Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav and State Minister for Energy Yashir Shah at the inauguration ceremony.
