AZAM KHAN DEFENDS HIS REMARKS OVER MUSLIM SOLDIERS ,EC SEEKS REPORT ON REMARKS
New Delhi: Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Wednesday stood by his remarks, saying, “Why are sacrifices by Muslim soldiers being ignored?”
Azam Khan, who has kicked up another controversy when he said it was “Muslim soldiers” who fought for India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil war against Pakistan, went on to defend his remarks saying, “I haven’t said anything wrong.”
Meanwhile, demanding the tape of his speech, the Election Commission has sought details of Azam Khan’s remarks.
The Bharatiya Janata Party will be meeting Central Election Committee on Wednesday evening demanding action against Khan over his remarks. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “This is demoralising for the Army personnel”
