BROAD DAYLIGHT ROBBERY OF 7 CRORE AT GUNPOINT IN SOUTH DELHI
New Delhi: In a broad daylight heist in the national capital, some armed men waylaid a Honda City car and robbed its owner of Rs 7 crores at gunpoint. The incident was reported from near Lajpat Nagar Metro station in south Delhi. According to eyewitnesses, some miscreants came in a WagonR and engaged into a verbal spat with the driver over a fake accident. Later, they held him at gunpoint and looted Rs 7 crores, which was lying in the back seat of the car. The accused threw the driver out of their way and fled the spot with the car and the money. After police officials reached the spot, the driver Rakesh told them that he was being told by his employer, who is a property dealer, to deliver the money to a person in Karol Bagh. The police said that it is highly suspicious that such a huge amount was being ferried in such a casual manner. Prima facie it seemed that the robbers knew about the money and the delivery time. Meanwhile, the investigators are examining the CCTV footages installed in the area to identify the culprits. The property dealer’s car was found abandoned near Barapullah flyover late in the afternoon. Two empty bags were also recovered from the car.
