Seven persons were killed
after a four-storey residential
building collapsed in south
Mumbai’s congested Dongri
area this morning.
BMC officials said nine
others were also injured in
the collapse
The rescue operation to bring
out as many as 40 people
residing the century-old
Kesarbai building who are
trapped inside the rubble is
currently in progress with the
help of three teams of
National Disaster Response
Force (NDRF) and Mumbai Fire
Brigade.
Besides, scores of locals also
joined in the effort, forming a
human chain to help in
removing the debris brick by
brick and picking up slabs of
concrete to locate those
buried. However, the rescue
work is getting hampered due
to the narrow lanes
