Chandrayaan-2 sets to leave earth’s orbit tomorrow morning on way to moon

India’s second lunar probe
Chandrayaan-2 is set to move
towards the moon after
leaving the earth’s orbit, with
the Indian Space Research
Organization planning to
carry out a crucial manoeuvre
early tomorrow morning
ISRO has said it will carry out
the manoeuvre called Trans
Lunar Insertion at around
3.30 A.M. IST

Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft is
expected to reach the moon’s
orbit on 20th of August. On
the 7th September, its lander
is expected to soft-land on
the south pole of the moon
and unleash the rover to
explore the surface. The ISRO
has so far performed five
earthbound orbit raising
manoeuvres
