"COWE" NGO ENGAGED IN SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC UPLIFTMENT OF WOMEN THROUGH ENTERPRENUERSHIP

The Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) is a NGO/Social organization engaged in the social and economic upliftment of women through entrepreneurship.

COWE’s mission is to enhance women’s opportunities by creating a resource base of technical know-how, management, marketing skills, finance, infrastructure and equipment to promote entrepreneurship.

Speaking at the inauguration Ms P. Saudamini, President of COWE, India said: “The slogan “Gearing women power” stands for the democratic structure of COWE and stands for “Of the women, for the women and by the women”.

The first session honorable chief guest Mrs Parvinder Sohi Behuria, NHRC (Retd. Secretary General) shared the principles of developing entrepreneurship..

The second session dealt with Secret to success. Meeta Rai, Principal DPS School Indirapuramand KanikaShori, said that “For all the boardroom talk about women dropping out on way up and corporate gender gap, there are more women making it to the top than ever before. All this happens, when women take their success into their own hands, and take ownership of their achievements, development and ambition.”

In the next session Rashmi Singh, a civil servant and Convenor of National Forum for Action on Convergence,spoke about the ‘Benefits and Schemes for Women Entrepreneurs’.

The final session was headed by Archana Gupta, Director, KEI, spoke on ‘Overcoming the obstacles and Strategies to grow your business.’ In the end the vote of thanks was given by Ms Geeta Goti, Secretary COWE.
