NEW DELHI: D K Sarraf Managing Director of ONGC Videsh has been selected by the PESB to head the ONGC. Sarraf started his carrier from DCM, a private sector textile firm. He joined Oil India in 1983 as senior officer and moved to ONGC in 1991 as Joint Director, which was then a manager level position.
The two candidates, who could not face the interview board on Friday because they could not get experience certificates on time, were; ONGC Director-Exploration NK Verma and ONGC Videsh Director-Finance SP Garg. Besides Sarraf, other shortlisted candidates were ONGC Director-Technical Shashi Shanker, Coal India Director R Mohan Das and Ministry of Railways’ Ashwani Lohani.
