TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Counting of votes for the 16th Lok Sabha Elections will commence from 0800 hours on 16th May, 2014. Many counting stations have been set up in Delhi. Elaborate traffic arrangements have been made for facilitating the counting of votes and for ensuring safe and smooth flow of traffic. Considering the presence of large number of vehicles belonging to candidates, supporters and public persons at the counting stations, suitable traffic diversions have been planned which are as follows:
Jija Bai Polytechnic/ITI for women, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi:

No traffic will be allowed to ply on both carriageways of August Kranti Marg between Kamla Nehru College ‘T’ point from Sirifort Auditorium crossing (Balbir Saxena Marg, August Kranti) from 0500 hrs till the final declaration of result.

No commercial vehicle/buses would be allowed to ply on August Kranti Marg between Andrews Ganj crossing and under Panchsheel flyover. The buses would be respectively diverted on Ring Road and Outer Ring Road to reach their destination via Aurobindo Marg and BRT Corridor.

General motorists from Sirifort Auditorium crossing can use Balbir Saxena Marg via Gulmohar Park-Niti Bagh to reach Andrews Ganj on Ring Road and vice versa for general traffic via Niti Bagh-Gulmohar Park on to August Kranti Marg for Malviya Nagar.

The election officials/staff and party workers approaching from Sirifort Road side can park their vehicles at CPWD ground while those coming from Ayurvigyan Nagar side can park in the parking of Sirifort Auditorium.
N.P. Bengali Primary school near Gole Market:

Traffic will not be permitted on Bhai Veer Singh Marg from Kali Bari Marg towards Gole Market except Election officials, authorized representatives of the Political Parties and bonafide residents of this area. The service road starting from Bhai Veer Singh Marg near Gole Market and passing in front of NP Bengali Girls Sr. Sec School and ending at Kali Bari Marg will remain one way. Traffic will enter from Bhai Veer Singh Marg and exit at Kali Bari Marg. There will be no entry from Kali Bari Marg towards NP Bengali Girls Sr. Sec. School.

All types of buses including DTC buses coming on Mandir Marg will not be permitted on Peshwa Road towards Gole Market. Therefore, buses bound for Central Sectt. & Shivaji Stadium will be diverted towards Mandir Marg and then towards Park Street-RML-GPO and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Terminal.

Traffic congestion is also expected on Faiz Road, Rani Jhansi Road and DBG Road in proximity to Jhandewalan.

Ashoka Road will remain closed from Windsor Place to R/A Jaswant Singh. The traffic will be diverted to Rajendra Prasad Road and Rajpath.
I.T.I. Nand Nagri, Wazirabad Road, Nand Nagri, Delhi :

Traffic will be diverted at Wazirabad Road from Gagan T-point to Durga puri Chowk via DC office, Nand Nagri.

Traffic will be diverted at Wazirabad Road from Loni Flyover to 100 Foota road via Durga Puri Chowk.

All commercial vehicles and buses shall be diverted at Wazirabad Road from under Khajuri Flyover towards Shastri Park.

All commercial vehicles and buses shall be diverted at Wazirabad Road from foot of Khajuri Flyover towards Shastri Park.
Aryabhatt Polytechnic, G.T. Karnal Road, Delhi:

Traffic will be diverted at:

Shakti Nagar Chowk,
Y-Point Azadpur,
Satyawati College Red Light,
Red Light Malwa Taxi Stand,
Saya Automobile Red Light,
Nanak Piao Gurudwara Red Light

No vehicle would allowed towards Ashok Vihar flyover, Arya Bhatt Polytechnic.
Delhi Technological University, Shahabad Daulat Pur, Main Bawana Road, Delhi:

Traffic coming from Bawana – Prahaladpur will be diverted at St. Xavier School towards Rohini.

Traffic coming at Red Light Sec-18, Rohini will be diverted towards Rohini.
Integrated Institute of Technology, Sector- Dwarka, New Delhi:

Traffic will be diverted from Sector-7 and 9 crossing, Dwarka and Sec.-9 & 10 crossing, Dwarka on Road No. 224.

No vehicles will be allowed to be parked either at or around the venue.
Large congregation of persons and vehicles is anticipated outside the residences of senior political dignitaries, especially on Prithviraj Road, Ashoka Road, Akbar Road, Janpath, Safdarjung Lane etc. in NDMC area. There could also be small victory processions which would require enforcing traffic diversions as per requirement.

Sufficient traffic personnel have been deployed at all the polling stations, strategic locations and intersections to divert the traffic in case of need and to assist the general public and commuters. Motorists and road users are advised to avoid the above routes and follow the diversion/directions given by the Traffic Policemen on duty to avoid inconvenience.
