Globally India reports 3rd highest daily count of Covid 19 cases.

NEW DELHI: India is now the seventh worst-hit nation in the world with Covid 19 and in terms of fatalities, it is ranked 12th at present. India’s latest COVID-19 case count rose by 9,651 in the past 24 hours to reach 2,16,919 on Thursday. The number of people died due to coronavirus infection stood at 6,075. More than 1,04,106 people have been cured and dischared. On Thursday, 270 deaths have been reported and it is the highest death toll in a single day.

On Wednesday, India reported the world’s third highest number of fresh cases in one day. As per the Worldometers website, Brazil reported 27,312 fresh cases, US reported 20,578 new cases followed by Russia (8,536). Now India has reported more than 9,000 cases in a day.

The National Capital reported more COVID-19 cases than Mumbai in the last 24 hours. More than 1,500 fresh cases have been reported in Delhi and number of coronavirus cases in Delhi are 25,004 according to the Delhi government. The number of active cases in Delhi is 14,456.

ICMR said that a total of 1,39,485 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in between Wednesday and Thursday in the country. The total number of samples tested in the country is 42,42,718. The COVID-19 case count is more in Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Gujarat, Tripura and Bihar. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi account for 61% of confirmed cases and 56% of fatalities.
