Government would ensure
sustainable sand mining
using the mapping of each
and every river in the country
by the national space agency
ISRO.
In an interaction with the
students and researchers of
the Salim Ali Centre for
Ornithology and Natural
History in Coimbatore, he
said the satellite mapping
would help locate the
riverbeds with abundant
deposits of sand, which alone
can be auctioned by the state
governments for regulated
mining
