HAL CONFERRED WITH RAKSHA MANTRI’S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN PERFORMANCE,INNOVATION & INDIGENISATION
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) has been conferred with ‘Raksha Mantri’s Awards for Excellence in Performance, Innovation and Indigenisation’. The awards were presented by the Defence Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar, yesterday at a function in New Delhi.
On receiving the awards, Mr T Suvarna Raju, CMD-HAL said “Raksha Mantri’s Awards for Excellence is a recognition of the faith reposed on HAL by its customers. HAL is a leader amongst Defence PSUs in the field of high-end technology and the Government trusts the Company as flag bearer in ‘Make in India’
The award for ‘Excellence in Performance under institutional category for the year 2012-13’ was bestowed upon HAL in recognition to achieving significant improvements in organizational performance, excellence through R&D, improved production and financial performance, export promotions, technology upgradation, focus on customer service, adoption of quality management systems and human resources management initiatives.
The award for excellence in the innovation category for the year 2012-13 was jointly presented to HAL’s Transport Aircraft Division(TAD), Kanpur and Avionics Division, Korwa. The TAD Kanpur received the award for ‘Electro Plasticity Assisted Incremental Foaming (EPAIF)’, a process envisaged to deform high strength and difficult to deform aerospace alloys. The Avionics Division Korwa got the award for ‘Deployable Flight Data Recorder System’ – a new generation ‘Fly Off and Survive Black Box’ designed with primary objectives to achieve a world class complementary design technology.
