I. S. Jha, CMD (POWERGRID) inaugurates the commencement of power flow through 1200kV National Test Station (NTS) at Bina

I. S. Jha, CMD (POWERGRID) inaugurated the commencement of power flow through 1200kV National Test Station (NTS) on 18th May 2016 established at Bina, Madhya Pradesh by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd & Indian Manufacturers under Public-Private-Partnership (P-P-P) model with active support of CPRI & CEA.

The test station consists of two 1200kV bays with 1200kV S/C & D/C Test lines of a km each. 1200kV Equipment developed by 35 Indian manufacturers are being field tested under energised condition earlier and now commenced power flow through these equipment.

I S Jha, CMD, POWERGRID while inaugurating the NTS congratulated all the Indian Manufacturers and agencies associated in the development and stated that this will be mile stone in introduction of UHVAC technology in Indian Power Sector and such initiatives should be taken in future also for the benefit of the Country. He stated that this development is appreciated by the Govt of India and attracted the attention of International utilities and professional bodies like CIGRE & IEC.
