IndianOil sponsors “Spirit of Freedom” Motorbike Expedition of Pathfinders to Ladakh

New Delhi, 26th August 2013 : P K Goyal, Director Finance, Indian Oil Corporation Limited flagged off the IndianOil sponsored “Spirit of Freedom” Motorbike Expedition of Pathfinders to Ladakh today. T.S. Khwaja, General Manager Incharge, Delhi State Office, IndianOil was also present on the occasion.

While addressing the sizeable audience, P K Goyal lauded the efforts of the Pathfinders in embarking on an expedition which promises to make a difference to the people living in remote Himalayan region. The oil industry has over several decades, built infrastructure across the sub-continent to essentially serve over a billion Indians. “Indian Oil Corporation has been engaged in various CSR activities to lend support to those found to be in need” he added.

It was mentioned by Pathfinders that this year the expedition would visit Turtuk Village in Nurba Valley and Trishul village in Leh along with other locations. A troop of seven bikes with eleven members would roughly cover 3600 Kms in a span of 15 days. The aim of this expedition is to spread awareness about environment degradation in the Himayalas among the school children in the remote villages of Ladakh as well as to reach out to the underprivileged in these inaccessible and hilly areas.
