HOCKEY, if you today ask your kids they even might not be knowing much about this national game but a mere mention of cricket and you can see utterly explaining the whole game.The fact is that the game which should have been given importance by the sports authorities of INDIA is kept under the covers and the gleam falls on the more lucrative,money fetching game that was invented by British and don’t have roots from our soil CRICKET.
HOCKEY is a pure game as nobody would have heard of any money betting scam on this game ,but if you talk about cricket it will give you ample cases related to it.If this dying game is not taken care of i fear that Hockey just don’t become a visitor attraction piece in museums,it’s the right time with the change in power i.e Modi Government come forward and take this game to the level and recognition which it truly deserves.
Why is it that the GOVERNANCE on a slumber note for this National Game which can not only win accolades worldwide as it had done in previous times when cricket was not so popular.
The National game of India is field hockey but cricket is the god of all the sports played in India. Because of the fame and the name, Indians are giving so much importance to cricket. Indian media stalwartly supports cricket and encourage this game.India’s national game is hockey and it is not given more importance as cricket.
Even the media should wake up and come for the support of this dying National game which if we don’t revive now will merely become a subject and picture of children’s textbooks in decades to come.
