A team of officers of Special Cell led by InspectorsUmeshBarthwal and Neeraj Kumar has apprehended a kingpin of a desperate inter-state gang involved in numerous cases of snatching in Punjab from Tilak Nagar, WestDelhi on 21st September 2013 at about 11:30 PM. He is wanted in the case of sensational daylight murder of Assistant Sub Inspector of Punjab Police namely Gurdial Singh, then posted as I/C PP ShaheedBhagat Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab, which had occurred in the area of Police Station Sarabha Nagar, District Ludhiana, Punjab. A reward of Rs. 50,000/- had been proposed for his arrest by Punjab Police.
Information was received by Inspr. UmeshBarthwal that one Karandeep s/o InderJeet Singh r/o Uttam Nagar, Delhi, who is wanted in a murder case of an Assistant Sub Inspector Gurdial Singh of Punjab Police, I/C PP ShaheedBhagat Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab, which had occurred in the area of Police Station Sarabha Nagar, Distt. Ludhiana, Punjab in May 2011 is hiding in Delhi after committing the gruesome murder of the Police official. This information was developed and it was revealed that Karandeep Singh is wanted in case FIR No. 94/11 u/s 302/307 IPC at PS Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana Punjab. It was also learnt that he is involved in many cases of snatching in Punjab alongwith his associate Jaswant @ Goldy s/o Jallandhar, Punjab.

INCIDENT
This case was registered on the complaint of HC Amarjeet Kumar MHC, police post SaheedBhagar Singh Nagar PS Sarabha, Ludhiana. He stated that he was the member of one of the police team led by IC PP ASI Gurdayal Singh, deployed to counter the snatching incidents during the morning time. During patrolling, when the team reached near Pakhowal Bridge, they were joined by public person Ajay Sharma. When they reached near Mata MandirChowk, they spotted a pulser Motorcycle without number plate. Two persons sitting on motorcycle were asked to stop instead they sped away. The police team chased them on their car. ASI Gurdayal alighted from the car to check the Motorcyclist. The pillion rider opened fire upon the police which hit ASI Gurdayal Singh on his shoulder and head. Public person Ajay Sharma was also injured in the firing. Both the assailant ran away from the spot. In this case Jaswant Singh @ Goldy s/o BalbirSingh r/o H.No. 1275, Gali no. 6, Baba BudhaaJi Nagar, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar Punjab arrested on 19-08-13 who has disclosed about the involvement of Karandeep in this case as his associate.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED
Accused Karandeep Singh Saluja @ Ujjwal Singh @ Monty aged 28 Years was born at MIG Colony Flat No. 812, Jamal Pur Road, Ludhiana, Punjab. He has studied up to 8th class in Ludhiana, Punjab. In the year 1998 he along with his family left Ludhiana and shifted to Kanpur, UP, as his father suffered loss in his lottery business. There he along with his father Inderjeet Singh runsaAhata. In the year 2007, he came to Delhi and lived with his elder brother namely Harmeet Singh at Jeevan Park, Uttam Nagar, Delhi. Here he worked in MTS as a Bill collection agent for six months. Therafter he worked in Gaini’s Ice Cream (Dwarka Sector-10) and Chawla restaurant (Moti Nagar and Jail Road, Hari Nagar) as Cashier. From last 10-15 Days, he is working as a Cashier at Punjabi Pind, Tilak Nagar, Delhi. His father is supplier of Raw Chicken. His mother namely DavinderKaur(Age 55 Years) is a house wife. He has two brothers namely Harmeet Singh (Age 33 Years) and Daljeet Singh (Age 32 Years). Harmeet Singh is working in Deep Tent house, Ghaziabad, UP as a Manager. He is married to KamaljeetKaur(Age 23 Years), having one son namely Harman(age 3years) and living in Ghazibad, UP. Daljeet is mentally disturbed and live with his family. He is living in rented house at B-1/37 Gali No. 1, Kiran Garden, NearNawada Metro Station. When accused was living at Ludhiana, he becomes friend with one Goldy who was living in neighbourhood. When accused Karandeep was living in Delhi, he used to visit Ludhiana and meet Goldy. There Goldy told him that he is doing chain snatching along with Honey and Monty and earning easy money. Accused Karandeep get lured and joined Goldy Gang and started doing Chain snatching with him. Goldy used to sold snatched chain to one Jewellar namely Sonu, who lives in TandeJalandher, Punjab. In the month of May 2011 accused Karandeep went to Ludhiana and did snatching along with Goldy. On 18/05/2011 in the morning time accused Karandeep Singh along with Goldy was committing snatching in Samrala, Punjab on black pulsar M/Cycle without number plate, Goldy was driving the M/Cycle and Karandeep was pillion rider, where police party tried to stop them and catch them, there accused Karandeep fired three Gun shot on police party and run away from there. He came back to Delhi and worked in restaurant hoping that nobody will get to know about his criminals act. However in the meantimeGoldy was arrested by Punjab Police who disclosed about Karandeep involvement in the murder of Punjab Police Personnel. Accused Karandeep came to know about Goldy arrest and that Goldy has disclosed about his involvement in the murder. He changed his rented accommodation and mobile number along with his family member to evade the arrest.
