Sunil Mehta, Managing Director & CEO of Punjab National Bank, the second largest Public Sect or lender, spoke to the members of PNB Parivar, on the occasion of International Day of Yoga which was celebrated in the premises of Central Staff College, its apex training institute, located at 8 Underhill Road, Civil Lines, Delhi.   He addressed the gathering and informed them to adopt Yoga as a way of life for betterment of their health. He also spoke about the Yoga culture being placed on the global map and that the entire scientific and technological world has accepted and adopted Yoga as a route to maintain good health and enjoy its benefits in daily lives.  He also exhorted the PNBians to revive the legacy of Yoga and take the rich cultural heritage passed on to our generation further. The event was attended by a large number of employees of the Bank and several members of their family. Shri Sunil Mehta, Managing Director & CEO, along with Corporate General Managers S/Sh. GS Gusain, Punit Jain, Dr. BM Padha, Ms. T Latha, SK Misra, BN Mishra, Ms. Neerja Kumar and other dignitaries actively participated in the Yoga activities.   The occasion was lead by Yoga-guru Shri Durgesh and his team.

 

The ‘swagat’ of Shri Sunil Mehta, MD & CEO was done in the traditional manner by presentation of a ‘nariyal’ and ‘tilak’.  In a unique endeavour, set of notebooks were also presented to mark the occasion which will be distributed to needy children later.

 

Shri Punit Jain, General Manager welcomed all the dignitaries and informed them about the Indian connection with ‘Yog’ which has a sense of belongingness and oneness.  He also spoke on the cultural inheritance and its impact on internal and external health.

 

Shri Sunil Agrawal, Chief Learning Officer and Principal of CSC also welcomed all the dignitaries and apprised them about the importance of Yoga in daily routine for the nourishment of mind, body and soul.  He also informed about eight transformational benefits of Yoga which ultimately leads to holistic health and an improved metabolic system. The link between Indian culture and Yoga was also shared by Shri Agrawal.  

 

Shri GS Gusain, Shri BN Mishra & Dr. BM Padha expressed similar sentiments and were highly appreciative of the initiative and encouraged the gathering to adopt Yoga as a way of life for `aarogyam ‘.
