The 66th Independence Day of the nation was celebrated by Punjab National Bank at their HO Bhikaiji Cama Place , with gaiety and  fervor. The National Flag was unfurled by Shri K R Kamath , Chairman and Managing Director, while  a crisp contingent of Indian Reserve Battalion paid National Salute to the Tricolour.


Shri Rakesh Sethi  and Shri S R Bansal, Executive Directors, accompanied by a large number of staff members and their families with children attended the function .


On this auspicious occasion the Executive Directors administered the National Pledge to all the staff members.


Paying tribute to the freedom fighters, sh. Kamath  said we must  not  forget  their supreme sacrifices.


He laid stress that each one of us must perform our duty with sincere dedication and doing so is the greatest service to the Nation. Our focus should be on nation building through whatever role the bank is playing in the economic growth.


He said that in the present day scenario it is of utmost importance that as an organization of national stature, we play a pro active role in CSR (corporate social responsibility) activities  to help in ensuring progress and promotion of less privileged sections  of the country.


Shri Kamath exhorted all the staff to actively contribute and go all out to ensure PNB’s Number 1 status in every banking parameter. Our work attitude should be focused to keep our business position un- challengeable. He called upon the staff to rededicate and reaffirm their resolve to continue on the path of excellence and remain a leading player not only in the banking industry but also in nation building.


The function concluded with National anthem and release of tricolor balloons in the air by children.
