Punjab National Bank conferred with the “India’s Best Bankers award” by The Sunday Standard

New Delhi,7th Sept.,2013:Punjab National Bank has been conferred with the “India’s Best Bankers award”   by The Sunday Standard, a part of the New Indian Express Group. The Award was received by Shri S.R. Bansal, Executive Director of the Bank, from Shri Kamal Nath, Union, Urban Development Minister,, in a function held in New Delhi.

The award was conferred after a detailed survey of almost a hundred of India’s top bankers by team of experts from Indicus Analytics, India’s premier economic research agency.

Sh. Bansal said that PNB has the legacy in achieving Priority Sector National Goals consistently for so many years. Bank is focusing Agriculture, SME and Housing because it is very important for generation of employment opportunity.  He has also apprised that Bank celebrates Agriculture Credit Campaigns religiously during Kharif and Rabi seasons to augment the lending to Priority Sector.

The Bank is providing full support to development of agriculture, medium and small scale industry, women empowerment and financial inclusion. It is also facilitating rural development through various initiatives like educating farmers on progressive agricultural practices, imparting entrepreneurial skills for self-employment and increasing financial literacy amongst the population.
