Sh. Neeraj Kumar, 1976 batch IPS officer takes over as new Police Commissioner-Delhi  from outgoing Sh. B. K.Gupta.

Sh. Neeraj Kumar took over charge as Commissioner police Delhi yesterday from outgoing commissioner Sh. BK Gupta following his retirement.He is a 1976 batch IPS officer of the AGMUT Cadre and he was so far the Director General- Delhi Prisons.In his statement while addressing the media he asked for media cooperation and said that counter terrorism apart from law and order management will be in his top priority list.

The outgoing commissioner Sh. B K Gupta conveyed to the media that his tenure had been satisfying and added that constables are real heroes who undertook long duty in hot weathers and should be treated with respect also adding to this he said it is easy to talk about policing in air-conditioned rooms but they do not enjoy such comforts.
