 “SHARE WITH CARE”- TRAFFIC PAVILLION THEME INAUGRATED BY TAJ HASSAN ,SPL. COMMISSIONER OF POLICE,TRAFFIC,DELHI

 New Delhi: On the occasion of IITF-2013, the Road Safety Pavillion of Delhi Traffic Police in Pragati Maidan was inaugurated today by Sh. Taj Hassan, Spl. Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Delhi. The function was attended by senior officers of Delhi Police, Traffic Police officers and 250 school children from A.S.N. Senior Secondary School, Mayur Vihar, Yuva Shakti Modern School, Sector-3, Rohini, Apeejay School, Pitampura and Richmond Global Public School, Paschim Vihar, Delhi.

This year the theme of the Traffic Pavillion is “Share Roads with Care”.  The senior officers were welcomed with bouquets and welcome song by school children.  Sh. Anil Shukla, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Delhi highlighted the efforts of Traffic Police personnel in smoothly and effectively managing the city traffic despite numerous hindrances and challenges.  He also informed about the recent modernization initiatives taken by Delhi Traffic Police in traffic management such as e-challan system, use of state of the art technical gadgets, stringent action being taken against commercial transport vehicles such as TSRs for traffic violations, pasting of reflective stickers on bicycles to minimize involvement of cyclists in fatal accidents during dark hours, reduction of fatal accidents due to constant analysis of previous accidents and taking  proactive remedial measures, safety of pedestrians by installing pedestrian signals, countdown timers and auditory devices etc.  Sh. Taj Hassan, Spl. Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Delhi informed that there are about 75 lacs registered vehicles in Delhi and considering the rapid urbanization of the city it is an extremely challenging task to manage and regulate the flow of traffic.  He also informed that proper urban/city planning is in the best interest of traffic management.  He also stressed about the need of convenient, safe, dependable and affordable public transport.

The school children participated in cultural programme and Nukkad Natak depicting the road safety rules and regulations.  A Talk Show was also organized by the school children on road conditions, traffic signals, highways and road safety measures. The Chief Guest and audience appreciated the performances given by school children.

The steps taken by Traffic Police towards modernization and automation of traffic management and control are showcased in the Traffic Pavilion alongwith specially designed literature on road safety for the information of all visitors.  The attraction of the Pavillion is battery operated toy motorcycles for joyride of children besides educating them about the traffic rules and laws. The motorcycles have been provided by M/s. Honda Motors
