LAUNCHES DIGITAL HEALTH CARD
Sir Ganga Ram Hospital today launched aMulti-Purpose Digital Health Card to provide patients with easy access to health care. With this unique initiative, SGRH becomes one of the first hospitals in Delhi to go Digital. This unique initiative also complements “Digital India” initiative by our Honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.

According to Dr. D.S.Rana, Chairman, Board of Management, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital , “ As a part of the ‘Digital India Programme’,  we have launched SGRH Health Card – Multi Purpose Smart Card, designed to provide patients with easy portability of their health care information and give the consultants faster access to their clinical data.”
Dr Rana added,“The card which is of the shape of a credit card, has multiple advantages. It contains a micro-chip with Smart-Chip Technology which stores all information related to patient’s health issues. As a result, the patient will not have to bring a bag full of his films, reports and medical details when he visits SGRH. Instead, this card will be given to the treating consultant, who by inserting it in card reader will get to know about his past medical history. This will not only save time but also will help in becoming paperless.”
Secondly, this card will also be a eWallet cash card wherein the patient can store and use the cash and transact with any department at SGRH, without the need to carry physical cash. For outstation patients, it will have an added advantage of Banks transferring money directly to this card. Hospital has started issuing smart cards that integrate the patient’s identity data with essential health information that can be quickly accessed.
Dr Rana further added that,“Fast and secured access to vital health information, lab results, queue management, access to the appointment scheduling of the consultants and various clinical services, patient dashboard at the consulting room and other cost benefits to the patients are the key features that would be offered in phased manner in the interest of the improved patient care.”
