Training programme initiated by Safety Cell of Delhi Traffic Police for the drivers of Haryana Roadways buses from 21st to 26th August, 2013
NEW DELHI;SEPT.5,2013: On the request of Haryana Roadways authorities, a training programme was organized by the Road Safety Cell of Delhi Traffic Police for the drivers of Haryana Roadways buses from 21st to 26th August, 2013 at Drivers Training School, Haryana Roadways, Gurgaon. The vital topics covered through lectures pertained to education on observance of traffic rules, established road safety norms, importance of road signs and markings, Hon’ble Supreme Court guidelines on movement of commercial transport vehicles/buses in NCT of Delhi, safe and defensive driving tactics, discipline on road lanes/intersections/roundabouts/bus stops etc. In addition, road safety literature, conceptualized and designed by the Road Safety Cell of Delhi Traffic Police was also distributed amongst the trainee drivers.
A total of 201 Haryana Roadways drivers attended the training programme who also keenly participated in the quiz shows organized after the lecture sessions and road safety film shows.
Since 1st August, 2013, 10,500 copies of road safety literature have also been distributed to Haryana Roadways and other Roadways bus drivers at Maharana Pratap ISBT, Kashmere Gate and ISBT Sarai Kale Khan which shall be continued. In addition, Road Safety Exhibition Vans are also being regularly deployed at both the locations to create road safety awareness amongst the drivers of Roadways buses.
