Why Bureaucracy need a makeover

A survey by a hongkong based political and economic risk consultancy few years back rated Indian bureaucracy 9.21 out of 10 on the inefficiency scale,the worst in the continent.such rating causes embarrassments as it reveals the depth of the flaws in the bridge named bureaucracy which connects the government and the people.
Among many observations which were analysed in the surveys related to the bureaucracy two things were prominent in the research,firstly bureaucrats are hardly held accountable for flawed decisions and secondly they cant be challenged on disagreements as its a difficult task, thus making bureaucrats very powerful.
Such vested powers a normal man cannot challenge and even foreign investors see the Indian system of investment so tedious as getting the work done from bureaucracy is lengthy and even the bribing and corruption parameters prevailing in bureaucracy add to it and getting clearence from the bureaucracy with middlemen involved and corruption combined with it makes it a difficult task to set up a business for a foreign entity.
In other words bureaucracy needs a makeover so that India bureaucracy is seen with comfort and ease for getting works done in minimum duration with system so efficient and transparent.
Hope the new government who take stake this time read this article of mine and gives bureaucracy a new makeover.
