Winner RWAs & AOAs pledge for Car Pooling and No Polythene
26 Feb 2016, Indraprastha Engineering College, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad : Today the Chief Guest and the Minister of State (Independent Charge),Ministry of development of North Indian Region,Minister of State for External Affairs and Minister of State for overseas Indian Affairs Honourable Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh felicitated 24 RWAs and AOAs from all over Ghaziabad for doing good work in the Cleanliness Drive conducted in Ghaziabad in Jan 2016 under Bharat Swachta Mission. RWA Gagan Enclave, GT, Road, City Zone and AOA Arunima Palace,Sector4, Vasundhara Zone were given the first place in the category of RWAs and AOAs respectively. Gen VK Singh appreciated the efforts put in by RWA Federation and promised to attend their regular meetings to keep abreast with the latest and to decide priorities of the Development works. Gen V K Singh asked to identify locations where he will provide water ATMs. He also wanted Ghaziabad to be like Jaipur.
The Chief Warden of Civil Defence Shri Lalit Jaiswal said that Academic Institutions and Activism of the RWAs have become the hallmark of Ghaziabad. Let us build on it further. The Chairman of the Hint Media Group Shri Kamal Sekhri said that every RWA is a primary school of Democracy. Therefore, we should not allow the speed of RWAs to go slow.
The Chairman of the RWA Federation Ghaziabad Col Tejandra Pal Tyagi while congratulating the winner RWAs and AOAs said that they are the fourth tier of Governance. Col Tyagi gave MS slide presentation on the activities of the last five years of the Federation and administered an oath on the following issues :
- · Do car pooling to the optimum
- · Avoid Polythene to the maximum
The Secy of Vasundhara Zone of AOA Federation Shri P S Singh gave a MS slide presentation on the activities of the last one year of AOA Federation. He also said that in future competitions amongst the RWAs and AOAs will be organised on regular intervals on Cleanliness Drive, Tree Plantation, Boycot Polythene,Police Verification of Drivers, maids & Chowkidars etc.
