Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal gave away awards to DTC’s ten best performing depots and best employees of the Corporation in a function held at Talkatora Stadium today in the august presence of Minister of Transport, Sh.Gopal Rai and other distinguished guests.  About 3000 employees and officers of DTC were present in the Stadium. Shri Kejriwal said that DTC will soon implement suggestion box system for welfare of staffs. This is very good initiative to encourage the employees of DTC and I want to congratulate both Transport minister Shri Gopal Rai and DTC’s MD for introducing such scheme he said.

Chief Minister, Shri Kejriwal encouraged all the employees of the Corporation to do their duty with full devotion and honestly so that people of Delhi are provided reliable and comfortable transport service.

Regarding contractual drivers, Shri Kejriwal told that on an average the salary of contractual drivers will be enhanced in the range of Rs.2500/- to Rs.4500/- per month.  Re. one per km is being increased w.e.f. Sept., 2015 as per the details given below:

Transport Minister said that total earning of DTC is increased as per the details given below:

Shri Gopal Rai informed that the best performing depot who received the award areGhazipur Depot, Millennium Depot-IV, Hari Nagar Depot-I, Hari Nagar Depot-II, BBM Depot-I, Nangloi Depot, Ghummanhera Depot, Wazirpur Depot, Ambedkar Nagar Depot and Rohini Depot-IV.  The Top Ten depots were selected according to their performance during the period from 16th May to 15 June, 2015 as compared to the same period of previous year i.e. 2015.

The key parameters for assessment of performance of the depots are; Average Fleet Utilization, Operational Ratio, Kilometer  efficiency, Driver Productivity per day in Kms., Vehicle Utilization, Earning Per Km., Earning Per Bus and Break down Ratio.

Speaking to the employees of the Corporation, Shri Gopal Rai told that DTC is emerging as a Model Public Transport not only in India but on the world’s scenario.  Its operating 4628 CNG buses including 1275 AC and 2506 Non AC Low Floor buses.  It operates 9 lakh Kms. on 560 routes with a huge ridership of more than 35 lakhs daily.  So it is desirable to recognize and reward the employees and officials who have shown their extraordinary efforts for this achievement of the Corporation.

 

Besides best performing depot award, two drivers, two conductors and two employees from other categories of each depot were also rewarded for their commendable job.  The drivers were selected according to their performance for operating maximum Kms. during this specific period.  Similarly, the conductors were selected for their maximum ticketed earning during that specified period.

 

 

Further Shri Rai told that keeping in view the safety of commuters, specifically female commuters, 1500 Marshals have been deployed in DTC buses.   CCTV Cameras have already been installed in 200 buses on which 3.75 crores have been incurred.  The work for installing the CCTV Cameras in remaining low floor buses is under process.

 

As regard future avenues, Shri Rai told that a project related to Automated Fair Collection System using Electronic Ticketing Machines, Smart Card is under process and tenders have been floated for the same. Keeping in view of transparency in Transfer and Posting of the employees of the Corporation, “Online Transfer System” with no human interference has been introduced.
