The 44th National Safety Day was celebrated on 4th March 2015 in TPS I Expansion, Neyveli in a grand manner as in the previous years. Competitions were conducted emphasizing safety for INDCOSERVE and contract workmen and prizes were distributed.
P. Bose , Additional Director, Industrial Safety & Health / Trichy, Govt. of Tamilnadu was the Chief Guest and in his speech, he explained the safety concepts, importance of safety, road safety and in household. He also described the different accidents in various industries and their prevention. A.Vijayan, Deputy Director of Industrial Safety & Health / Cuddalore also participated in the function.
The function was presided over by B.Gouthaman CGM / TPS I & I Expansion. In his presidential address, he insisted to continue the existing safety practice. S.Palanivel, DGM/Safety, Shri M.Peter Alexis, Chief Manager / Safety and V.Murali, Safety Officer spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, a silent rally was taken out and paid homage to the deceased employees who passed away during their duty hours, by observing two minutes silence and placing a wreath in the memorial plaque. The safety flag was then unfurled by the chief guest. Safety Pledge was taken by all the employees and contract workmen. All the executives and employees of TPS I Expansion, Contractors, representatives of recognized unions, associations, CISF, security and fire service personnel, indcoserve and contract workmen participated in large numbers.
In TPS-I, Shri A.Subramanian, GM of the Power Plant administered the Safety Pledge to the employees. Dr.V.Subramanian, Dy. Chief Medical Officer, NLC General Hospital made a power point presentation on the topic “Causes and Management of Diabetics”. 54 senior employees from various divisions of the Thermal Power Station were honoured with “Most Safety Conscious Worker Award”. Senior officials, employees and Shri C.V. Raghunathan, CM/Safety Participated in the function.
G. Balasubramanian, GM/TPS-II administered Safety Pledge to the employees in the National Safety Day celebrated at Thermal Power Station-II . Dr.S.Jaya Mohan Das, ACMO, NLC General Hospital made a power point presentation on Occupational Health and Industrial hygiene. S. Sathya Narayanan, R. Vikraman, General Managers, senior officials, M.Madava Radjou , Chief Manager, Safety and Chandramohan, Safety Officer participated.
