ARVIND KEJRIWAL,CM DELHI INAUGRATES PIPED WATER SUPPLY IN 8 UNAUTHORISED COLONIES OF RITHALA

The Delhi Government is committed towards making potable water supply accessible to each household in Delhi. In order to achieve this objective, the Delhi Jal Board has released water supply in eight unauthorized colonies of Budh Vihar Phase-II. Water in these colonies will be provided from the Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant through Rohini UGR, Sector-23.

Sh. Arvind Kejriwal, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi inaugurated the supply of potable water through pipe line network laid by DJB in eight unauthorised colonies of Rithala Assembly Constituency, today; on o6.11.2015. Sh. Kapil Mishra, Hon’ble Minister, Government of Delhi and Chairman, Delhi Jal Board, Sh. Mahender Goel, Hon’ble MLA of the Delhi Assembly, Sh. Keshav Chandra, CEO, DJB along with other senior officials of DJB were also present during the inauguration ceremony.                Commissioning of this UGR/BPS will benefit the 1.20 lakh people residing in Veer Singh Colony, Veer Singh Colony Extension, Budh Vihar Phase-II, Mange Ram Park Extension, Shyam Colony, Harsh Dev Park, Mange Ram Park and Budh Vihar Phase-I and Phase-II Sharma Colony. DJB caters to the longstanding demands of the residents of these areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Arvind Kejriwal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi said, “On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I am delighted to see that adequate water will now be available in the unauthorised colonies of Rithala. DJB has done a commendable job and their hard work is set to bring remarkable changes in the lives of the residents of these eight colonies”.

Sh. Kapil Mishra, Hon’ble Minister for water and Chairperson, DJB said, “It has been our focus to ensure access to potable water supply especially to residents of the unauthorized colonies. I am hopeful; the water supply will result in better living conditions for the residents of this area and will also lead to an improved environment.”

The CEO, DJB, speaking on the occasion said, “The commissioning of this UGR/BPS will benefit a population of about 1.2 lakh people. The Board strives to meet the water needs of the city, within the limited raw water availability. DJB has been making sustained efforts to provide potable water supply especially in the unauthorised colonies of the city’’.
