The Central Bureau of Investigation has yesterday arrested an Inspector of Income Tax, Ward-1(1), Vanijya Nikunj, Udyog Vihar, Phase-V, Gurgaon (Haryana) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. One Lakh.
A case was registered under section 7 of PC Act, 1988 against Inspector, Income Tax(Audit), Income Tax Office, Vanijya Nikunj, Udyog Vihar, Phase-V, Gurgaon. It was alleged in the complaint that the accused was demanding bribe of Rs.One Lakh in respect of assessment of the Filling Station (Petrol Pump) at District Nuh(Haryana) registered in the name of the complainant’s son. It was further alleged that the Income Tax Inspector had called the complainant to his office and during their meeting, the accused demanded the said bribe for not imposing additional Income Tax of Rs.10 lakh on the said firm.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.One Lakh.
Searches are being conducted yesterday at the premises of accused including at Mahipalpur Extension,Delhi.
The arrested accused will be produced today in the Designated Court.
