PNB supports artisans by organizing Diwali Mela

 

Smt. Usha Ananthasubramanian Managing Director and CEO, Punjab National Bank inaugurated Diwali Mela organized by the Bank under the banner of PNB Prerna on 15th &16th October at Chankyapuri.  Present on occasion were Ms Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament, Mahashya Dharam Pal (proprietor of MDH), Sh. Sanjeev Sharan, Bank’s Executive Director, Zonal Manager (Delhi) and other senior officers. All senior functionaries of PNB Prerna, the CSR wing of PNB, RWA members were also present on the occasion.

Diwali Mela was organized to provide platform to the various artisans, Self Help Groups, NGOs working for the upliftment of underprivileged section of the society.  Participants were from all over India in the Mela. Bank has provided platform free of cost to these organizations to showcase and sell their products.  MD & CEO of the bank said that this is 2nd year of the bank to provide platform to the artisans as a part of CSR agenda of the bank.

In the mela,  there were variety of food stalls, Magic Show, Puppet Show, Musical Programme, Handicraft items & Tambola etc. Besides, there is free health Check up camp set up by BLK Hospital, Delhi.

Bank had stationed its mobile ATM Van for facilitating withdrawal of cash by visitors. There were separate counters for enrolment of Aadhaar cards and its seeding. Bank’s Digital and Retail products counters drew huge crowd as large number of visitors, specially Gen-Next visitors were interested in such products. Bank also had separate counter for opening of accounts of public through TAB Banking.

The general public appreciated the efforts of PNB Prerna and took keen interest in the activities in the Mela and enjoyed Diwali shopping for their homes.
