SATISH MATHUR IPS APPOINTED DIRECTOR GENERAL OF MAHARASHTRA POLICE

Mumbai: Senior IPS officer Satish Mathur has been appointed as the new Director General of the Maharashtra Police.

He is an officer of the 1981 IPS batch and currently posted as Additional DGP – Anti-Corruption Bureau since the past few months.

He will replace Praveen Dixit, an IPS officer of 1977 batch, who was posted in December last year. Pravin Dixit – who attains superannuation after serving in the post since September 2015 – later on Saturday.

Mathur, who served as the Pune Police Commissioner, was last year promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).
