SUPREME COURT ISSUES CONTEMPT OF COURT NOTICE TO FORMER JUDGE MARKANDEY KATJU

Supreme Court on Friday issued contempt of court notice to Markandey Katju for criticising judges and not the judgment in the Soumya rape case.

The apex court said that the notice was issued for Mr. Katju’s blog, in which he had allegedly used intemperate language against judges.

This is the first occasion in judicial history when a former Judge of SC faces contempt charge in apex court.
