Punjab Governor has appointed IPS Viresh Kumar Bhawra as the new Director General of Police. His term shall be for a minimum period of two years from the date of assumption of office, the order by the Governor read. In December 2021, Siddharth Chattopadhyaya had replaced Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota as the Director General of Police, Punjab.
