POWERGRID EMPLOYEES PLEDGES TO CONTRIBUTE TO SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN

Employees of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), has pledged to contribute 55,000 man hours towards the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan”. Accordingly, cleanliness drives have been initiated by more than 72 locations of POWERGRID spread across the country in which more than 5000 man hours have already been spent towards this end.

About 50 employees of POWERGRID, Corporate Centre, Gurgaon, led by I.S.Jha, CMD, POWERGRID, alongwith Ravi P. Singh, Director (Personnel) and other senior officers and staffs, initiated the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” in “Rajkiya Kanya Prathamik Pathshala”, Kanhai Gaon, Gurgaon, on 06th March 2016.

During the drive, apart from the premises of “Rajkiya Kanya Prathamik Pathshala”, the adjoining premise of “Ambedkar Sabha” was also cleaned up. As a precursor to the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” in the school, POWERGRID officials held an awareness camp in the said school on 05th March 2016, in which the children were motivated to incorporate “Swachhata” in their daily habits.

Motivating video films on “Swachhwata”, shown to the children, were thoroughly enjoyed by them. All the assembled students and the teachers took the pledge to remain committed towards cleanliness and devote, 100 hours per year, of their time for this purpose. Trees saplings were also planted on this occasion by senior POWERGRID officials.
